I have an implementation requirement. We are trying to figure a way to get extended parameters in LDAP Directory server to filter/apply row level security on BusinessObjects universe. Let me explain in detail.
LDAP Directory will have certain attributes like "Submission Name" associated to each user in the directory. I know we can apply row level security by creating security profiles on the universe and adding users/groups to the profile. My requirement is that, can we use "Submission Name" (is an extended attribute in LDAP Server and also present in multiple tables in the database) and implement row level security on the universe? The where condition should be filled with the value from custom user attribute or the value from the LDAP directory.
We were able to obtain extended attributes from LDAP server to Business Objects by creating "custom mapped attribute" under User Attribute Management. We can see the attributes attached to individual user profiles under "users and groups".
Please find the screen shot attached. The attributes within the red box are the attributes that are mapped from LDAP directory. These have to be utilized to filter data with-in the report (Crystal Reports for Enterprise) with universe as a data source.
